Amy Ford

Congratulations to Amy Ford, Year 13, who has been selected to participate in the heats stage of the ‘BBC School Soloist of the Year’ 2022.

Amy is a member of the School Choir, Chamber Choir and has featured, with a leading role, in many of our school productions since she came to Dunclug College in Year 8. Amy performed and recorded ‘Once Upon a Dream’ from The Musical Jekyll and Hyde and ‘You’ve got a Friend’ by Carole King for her audition.

We wish Amy the very best of luck, from all of her Dunclug family, as she prepares for the Heats on December 9th.

Adam Courtney

Adam Courtney 13JS competed for Irish Schools' in the SIAB International in Derby in September 21 and was part of the Under 17 team which claimed a bronze medal in the 4x400m relay event.  This was a tremendous achievement, not overlooking his own selection for the Irish team in the first place.

This followed on from success representing Ulster in the Tailteann Games at Santry, Dublin. This was an inter-provincial competition and Adam recorded personal best performances in both the 400m and 400m hurdles events, winning a bronze medal in the latter, before anchoring the Ulster team to victory in the 4 x 400m relay team.
